Chicken tenders are a popular snack or meal option that are easy to make and delicious to eat. They are made from chicken breast meat that has been cut into strips, breaded, and then fried or baked until crispy and golden brown.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. chicken breast meat, cut into strips
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
Recipe
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat the oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (180°C).
- In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- In another shallow dish, beat the eggs.
- In a third shallow dish, add the breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
- If baking, place the chicken strips on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
- If frying, carefully place the chicken strips in the hot oil and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven or fryer and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
